CYM Toolbar

Friday, April 25th, 2008

I’ve just taken ‘delivery’ of a batch of shiny new toolbars for this blog-site. So now you can download a unique ChallengeYourMates toolbar…

Why would you want to do this?
Well, the information build up here is gathering pace - especially with
rapid developments to the games site. Sooo… you need to get the
toolbar to keep up with all the news. As soon as we have news (new
games, tournaments, charity updates… whatever) we tell you about it,
or if there is something YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT we will tell you - but with the toolbar you get this information first!

The CYM Toolbar sits quietly in your browser (doesn’t take up a lot of space), looks very, very cool - and offers instant links to all the charity information, news, tips, and - of course - the games site.

Where do you get it?
Look down the right-hand menu… see the banner with Stay in Touch, and a nice knotted rope? Click on it!

£25 Competition Winner

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

£25 WinnerMany thanks to all of you who entered the Quick March Prize. The competition has now closed.

The winner is chantelleyorks - she was allocated the following random Lotto numbers: 19, 6, 21, 33

The UK Lotto draw for 26th March was 3, 22, 27, 33, 45 & 48 with 17 as the bonus number. There were only two players with one matching number, fellowbejam matched “3” and chantelleyorks matched “33“. chantelleyorks was awarded the prize-money of £25 because her number “19” was closest to the bonus.

Competition Update 2

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Here are four other players who have entered the Quick March Prize competition:

SuzieWo 40, 26, 8, 13

indocontest 23, 42, 30, 7

jimbob 1, 13, 46, 10

chantelleyorks 19, 6, 21, 33

Again, for the sake of fairness I have allocated each entrant with numbers from the UK lottery of 1994: I will compare the selection above with winning numbers drawn on March 26th, the winner of the £25 ($25 or 25€) will be the person who matches the most numbers.

There is still time to enter - 8 days left… check out the competition requirements and send me an email. I will continue to post usernames here, so remember to subscribe to this blog, or use our widget to keep in touch.

Competition Update

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Perhaps I should have offered a prize for the first person to enter the Quick March Prize… ‘fellowbejam‘ was the first out of the starting blocks, quickly followed by three others in the last few days. Great news, and thank you for entering.

I have allocated each entrant with the following numbers from the UK lottery of 1994:

fellowbejam 30, 3, 5, 44

alisonkey 16, 6, 44, 31

alexwa 21, 11, 17, 30

jimjim 26, 47, 49, 43

I will compare the selection above with winning numbers drawn on March 26th, the winner of the £25 ($25 or 25€) will be the person who matches the most numbers from the UK lotto. In the event of a tie (ie, two people both matching all four numbers) then the earlier submission will win.

There is still time to enter - so check out the competition requirements and send me an email. I will continue to post usernames here (together with historic lottery numbers) … so subscribe to this blog or use our widget to keep in touch.

The Quick March Prize

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Challenge Your Mates and Win £25 We are continuing to spread the word about our charity games site. Online advertising has a cost that detracts from the aim of our fundraising efforts, so this quick competition was born.

Here’s a simple way to win £25 ($25 or €25), and it won’t cost you a penny (or a cent).

The Rules:
The rules are fairly simple. To enter you do need to do only two things:

One: you need to take a look at the ChallengeYourMates site and play some games. You do not need to upload funds – this is a FREE competition! If you haven’t already joined, visit the site now and take a look at the games. When you do join you will be asked to choose a username – remember this name… you’ll need it to play games in the future, and you’ll need it to enter this competition.

Two: you need to post a to link to www.challengeyourmates.com. The link can be either a mention on FaceBook, MySpace, or similar site; it can be a post, your blogroll… whatever. I don’t let people tell me what to post on my blog and I’m not going to tell you what to write on yours. As long as there’s a working link, you’ll be entered.

Then email me (Harrison[at]irontree.co.uk) with the URL where your link is found and the username you have when playing games. I will then enter your name into the draw. Sites with objectionable content (‘adult’ sites, ‘pharmacy’ sites, and any site deemed as spam) will not be eligible. I will notify you ASAP if your entry has been rejected for any reason.

How’s that for a simple, entertaining competition package?

The Small Print:

  • The competition runs from now until March 25th 2008.
  • The winning username will be chosen completely at random by utilising the UK Lotto draw numbers for the evening of Wednesday 26th March.
  • By entering the competition you agree to having your username, but no other details, posted on this Blog. On 26th March I will post the details (again, only the username) of the winner.
  • The prize money will be entered into your eWallet at the games site. This is not a catch. You can use the eWallet funds to play games, or simply withdraw the money and buy yourself a couple of CD’s (or whatever). The choice is yours! Now, because there is a small charge to withdraw funds, I will actually credit your eWallet with £26.50 ($27.00 or €27.00) to ensure the cash value to you is correct. How fair is that?[ps. if you do decide to use your winnings to play games, you can do so safely in the knowledge that you are benefiting Cancer Research UK - here are more details of how our charity fund-raising works.]

I hope to run similar competitions in the future so would welcome your comments.
